Eden

My music is now available for download.....

.........in most of the usual places. You can buy Eden on iTunes, click the logo below, but it should be popping up in Amazon, Deezer, Tesco Mp3 and all those kind of places any day now.

Keep watching the stores (if you actually like what I do!), because I have the intention of being much more prolific with song production, and adding a lot more tracks for download only at these stores.

As a musician, it's a double edged sword....this kind of distribution will never allow someone like me to make a living from music sales, but at the end of the day, no-one makes music unless they want at least
someone
to hear it. This seems like the best way to get heard further afield than my back yard.

By the way, if anyone wants to add a review to iTunes, good or bad, as long as it's fair(!), please carry on.....I would  appreciate your time!

Eden V.2.0

Second Edition of the 'Eden' E.P.;

The first run of my CD Eden is pretty much all gone, which amazes  and humbles me, that's one thousand copies in circulation....or possibly used as coasters. I've heard they make good beer mats.

With that in mind, I'm making the second run a little different....the last track 'Exit Ramp' will be the full version with vocals, instead of the funky little short clip it was constrained to on the first run. If you bought Eden, and in the unlikely event you'd want to hear my agonised caterwauling over that piece of music, then email me rick@rickjonesmusic.co.uk and I'll send you the MP3.

Also, in my....ahem....wisdom, when I did the artwork for the first one, I had it in mind that if I made the cover art dark and blurry it would be less 'in peoples faces' or spam like. I don't know why, but I struggled with advertising myself, and I thought it looked cool anyway. I wanted the music to be the focus. I always do. Screw the cover!

I had the concept of and X-rayed snake for the cover, and X-rayed apple for the back and an X-rayed tree for the disc. When I layed it out, it wasn't as cool as I thought it would look, and the time was ticking....like it does...

...Anyway, this time I'm releasing it in a white cover with a black fossil snake, and fossil apple on the back cover, also with sleeve notes this time....and....lyrics....!!

Here's the new cover.

Incase you don't read the News and Press section....

......where I went on abit about having an interview online, here is the link!

Article in Jersey Weekly and Jersey live weekend is upon us....

Well,
I must thank the awesome Lucy Sanderson for this, as she chose to feature me in the magazine on the week of Jersey live, when much of the islands focus is on music already. I consider this a great honour, and I hope I came across ok in the interview, and not like some Welsh hillbilly....which is pretty much what I am if you strip away the fancy font I'm writing this in, and the fact that I have my own website (which still feels odd and a little self indulgent if I'm honest).

Jersey Live is a pretty big runaway success story, it's grown to be a huge event and this year is the first year I've played there, I think in part due to the size this year meaning there is more room for local acts, and I'm headlining, such as it is, the acoustic, Jersey Teleceom Recharge tent. I'll be on at ten past seven on the Sunday, the very last act they have on. Would be nice if some friendly faces were in the crowd....or lack of crowd....or whatever is going to be there. I don't mind unfriendly faces either, I tend to play with a bit more fire and venom when I see those!

I will admit, I have been sceptical of the seemingly cartel inspiredtactics used in getting gigs at events such as these,by local musicians and promoters, but getting a slot may have relieved my paranoia somewhat....and may have saved you from seeing me degenerate into a tinfoil hat wearing, conspiricy obsessed recluse..............
